start reading the bible

If you’re new to faith, one of the best ways to learn more about following Jesus is to read the Bible. We recommend grabbing an NLT version, and we’ll even give you a free one this Sunday if you’ll read it.

If you don’t know where to start reading, click the link below to download a free Bible reading plan courtesy of our friends Replicate. (We don’t own this resource, but we’re thankful they share it!)

Alpha: a class For questions

Alpha is a 12-session group that creates space for honest conversation around life’s biggest questions. It’s designed to provide an opportunity to connect and share thoughts, ideas, and opinions in a safe and caring environment. Everyone is welcome and you’re invited, no matter your background or beliefs.

CONNECTION Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table or a quick online catch-up, times of connection are important. All Alpha sessions open with a meal and a chance for conversation.

CONTENT The Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?”, and “How does God guide us?”

CONVERSATION One of the most important parts of any Alpha session is the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic in a small group format. Guests hear from others and have an opportunity to contribute and share in a judgment-free environment.

Alpha meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8 pm for 12 consecutive weeks. New groups launch in January and in late August/early September. There is no cost to join Alpha, and free childcare is available.

The FALL 2025 SESSION WILL BEGIN ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2025.

baptism

For over 2,000 years, followers of Jesus have been baptized as an outward sign of the inward transformation that comes through faith in Him. Jesus himself commanded his followers to be baptized, and we continue this practice today.

When a follower of Jesus goes under the water, it represents the death of the old self. And when they rise, it’s a picture of Jesus’ resurrection—reminding us that we, too, have been raised to new life in Him.

If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, publicly declaring your faith in Jesus through baptism is your next step. Click on the form below to let us know you’d like to be baptized at Journey Church, and a member of our team will be in touch with you soon.

CHILDREN At Journey Church, we believe baptism is a meaningful step of faith—a personal choice to publicly declare one’s decision to follow Jesus. We baptize children when they can understand the message of the Gospel, recognize what it means to follow Jesus, and choose to take this step on their own.

The next baptism Sunday is November 23, 2025.

Rooted: a class for growth

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience that brings people closer to God through group discussions, a prayer experience, a serving experience, and celebration.  It is designed to help you understand God and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, and will strengthen your connection to the Church.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN ROOTED? Rooted is a discipleship class for both new and seasoned followers of Christ. It will help new Christians understand God and what it means to follow Jesus, but will challenge long-time Christians to deepen their walk with God.

THE DETAILS The cost to enroll in Rooted is $35, which includes course materials and a celebration meal at the end of the course. Free childcare is available.

Rooted meets on Sunday afternoons from 4 - 5:30 pm or Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8 pm for 10 consecutive weeks. New groups launch in January and in late August/early September.
